P05 – SWITCH-ER: Endoplasmic reticulum domains involved in switching non-oleogenic to oleogenic metabolism in Brassicaceae

Abstract
The membranes of oilseed plants represent barriers to the environment as well as sites of oil biogenesis. We will study how enzymes alternatively contributing to membrane-biogenesis or to oil-formation are targeted into either process. Understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms may allow to better balance membrane-dependent environmental resilience with oil-based nutrition.
